Name: Talley

About Talley:

Talley is probably 4-5 years old and currently weighs 19 lbs. She was found on the side of the road in Lake Norman, NC by a guardian angel named Susan Booth, who took her to Lake Norman Animal Hospital and paid for all of her initial vet work! Susan also named her, in the spirit of "Talley Ho!" Talley is cute, friendly and unbelievably sweet. She plays with toys and carries them around as if they are her babies -- she looks like she has had a litter in the last few months. She is totally crate trained so far, although she's still working on house training when out and unsupervised. She prefers to sleep in a "burrow" setting and sleeps well through the night. She rarely barks. When she wakes up in the mornings, she greets her foster with a grin. We are working on getting a picture of that. She has been great with all ages of people we have met so far (8 of them have been seniors). We haven't had the opportunity to be around small children yet, but her foster mom expects that she would do well with them as well. She gets along well with other dogs. Talley will be ready to go to her new family as soon as she completes heartworm treatment. She is underweight as well and we are working to get her to a healthy weight. (7/31/11) UPDATE: Talley has done very well since having her heart worm treatment 7/14-15. She gets more affectionate every day and would do best in a home where she is allowed to snuggle with her family on the couch and in the bed. She sleeps with her foster every night! She still carries her toys around as if they are babies, but is willing to "leave them" for longer and longer. She is eating well and appears to be gaining weight.
