About Nikki:

Update 12/28/11: It has been a few weeks since Nikki's eye removal surgery and she is doing fantastic. She is even more happy and bouncy than before. Nikki had a wonderful Christmas. She traveled to Indiana with her foster mom. Nikki had a long 12 hour car ride and was such a good girl. She does get a little car sick so she was given some motion sickness medicine and the trip breezed by. Nikki just hung out in the back seat. Once in Indiana it was non-stop action and Nikki loved every minute of it. On Christmas Day she was surrounded by over 20 people, children, other dogs, and a cat. She wanted to be right in the middle of it all. There might be a treat dropped on the floor after all! Nikki did a fantastic job with all the kids running around. Even the little ones wobbling around didn't scare her.

The only thing that Nikki doesn't seem to like are large dogs. Even if they are calm she doesn't feel comfortable around them. She is perfectly fine around dogs her size or smaller. Nikki is also great with cats.

Hi! Hi! HI! I'm NIKKI!!!! Sorry, I get a little excited when I say hello. I'm just so happy. I love being with people and I also get along with other dogs and cats. My foster mom says I am such a good girl all the time. I know that I should not potty inside or chew on things. My foster mom is able to trust me in the house and I make sure I keep it safe. I don't bark much, but when someone has the nerve to walk another dog in front of our house I let them know I'm on duty. I have to say that one of the best things EVER is going on walks. I love exploring the neighborhood and getting exercise. I am on an exercise plan to get my girlish figure back. :) When I go on my walks I make sure to use good manners. Little kids always want to come and pet me. Can you blame them? I make sure to stand calmly while they feel how soft I am. I don't like to brag but I guess I'm a pretty fantastic dog. I would love to share life with you and I promise to make you smile each day. Please meet me and let me show you how cute I really am!

Update 12/14/11:  After a recent vet visit we found out that Nikki was blind in one eye and was having pain and problems due to a detached retina in the eye.  Unfortunately the eye had to be removed but Nikki's spirits don't seem to be dampened one bit.  She is looking forward to this Halloween when she'll be able to wear an eye patch and dress up as a pirate!
