About Tommy:
***Reduced Adoption Fee of $150.00 for Senior Celebration. Adopt a Senior, they are great!!***--UPDATE 1-9-11: Tommy's foster is excited to report that Tommy has great leash manners and loves to go for walks.
--Tommy is estimated to be about 9 years old and is 53.4 pounds. He is a very handsome mix of beagle and bassett hound! He was found in Garner lying in the middle of the road (hwy 70, I think) by a kind gentleman who stopped to help him. This man thought Tommy was dead b/c he wasn't moving and didn't wake up when he and a couple of other good samaritans helped him get him in the car. They took him to Noah's Ark vet (one of the lady's that helped uses that vet) immediately. After 3 days with plenty of IV fluids and medications he was released into the care of a lady who gave him a temporary place to rest and recover (the same lady who helped in the road and whose vet it is). Evidently, Tommy had been roaming as a stray for about 3 or more months on White Oak Rd. in Garner and was being fed by someone who lived in the area, but not given shelter.
Tommy couldn't be more well behaved! At some point in his life, he had a family because he knows how to use a dog door, he's completely house trained. He does cry if he's separated from me - like being in a different room with the door shut, and he gets extremely excited when I come back in the house from being away for any length of time. I get the sense that he's afraid of being abandoned again. Oh, and he does wonderfully in the car - loves to look out the window! Tommy would do best in a home with no other dogs so he gets the attention he deserves!
Sponsor: Tommy has been named through a gracious donation from former TBR board member Tomalei Vess. Tomalei wrote, "Naming a beagle for my father who passed away in Sept. 1994." Thanks Tomalei for all you have done and continue to do to support Triangle Beagle!
