Well howdy! My name is Henry and my foster mom says I am the best boy. My favorite thing in the whole world is toys. I love seeing how many I can cram into my mouth at once– my record is 3! Tennis balls, stuffies, chew bones, I’m not picky at all. My second most favorite thing is PEOPLE! I am constantly supervising my foster mom with all of her activities at home. She calls me a velcro dog.

I’ve recently discovered the magic of the leash. I realized when it gets clipped on my harness, I get to go cool places, like walks, breweries, and even the vet. I wag my tail and nicely greet everyone I meet. I might still pull a bit when I see a rabbit or a squirrel, but I am a hound dog after all.
I’m a very fast learner and have mastered potty training, crate training, leash training, “sit”, and am working on “wait”. I like other dogs and am coexisting nicely with the cat in my foster home.

I’d love to live somewhere with a secure fence so I can romp around the yard, but I would be ok without one if I had lots of dedicated walkies and outside time. Even though I am technically an older gentleman, I have lots of big hound energy.

I can’t wait to meet you and wag my helicopter tail!

Henry was found as a stray and brought to the Nash County animal shelter. He found his way to TBR once his stray hold was up, as the shelter was over capacity and he needed a spot to land.
