Sophie

Sophie is a sweet, gentle beagle who is ready to discover just how wonderful life with a loving family can be. She can be shy and hesitant around new people and is fearful of loud noises and lots of commotion, so she would thrive in a calm, quieter home with a patient family willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe and build confidence. Bonus points if you have chicken to use as treats to win her over.

Once Sophie knows you, her sweet personality begins to shine. Her tail starts wagging when she sees a familiar face coming her way, and she happily leans in for ear rubs and chin scratches. Watching her learn to trust and enjoy affection is pretty special.

This brave girl has already been through quite a journey. Sophie had surgery to repair her back leg and is recovering wonderfully. Even while dealing with a sore leg, she has been incredibly sweet and tolerant of handling and has never shown any aggression. She was such a good girl at her spay appointment that she even earned the title of “Patient of the Day!”

Sophie is crate trained, sleeps through the night in her crate, and is making good progress with house training. She does well with older children and cats and is indifferent to other small animals.

Sophie may need a little extra patience as she adjusts to a new home, but she has so much love waiting to come out. She deserves a second chance at the good life and a family who will give her the security, kindness, and time she needs to blossom. Could you be the person Sophie has been waiting for?
