Special Rescue Operation

On July 26, 2022, Triangle Beagle Rescue welcomed 79 beagles from the breeding facility in Virginia, more than doubling the size of our rescue in just ONE DAY! All 79 beagles have been placed in foster homes so they will be able to decompress, rehab, get medical care, and learn how to “dog”.   It took a true army of volunteers to make this day happen.  THANK YOU to the application coordinators vetting new fosters and adopters, drivers and assistants who had to get up at 3am to transport the beagles, foster coordinators who provided training for new fosters, new and experienced fosters for picking up and caring for these sweet dogs,  those who collected supplies and donations, those who took the day off of work to intake, wash, identify, tag, and provide love to the new beagles, and all the others who made this happen.  And a special THANK YOU to Sunny Acres Pet Resort for allowing us the use of their facilities as a center of operations for this special day.  We would also like to thank everyone who has contacted us concerned about the rescue of 4000 beagles from a breeding facility in Virginia.  Your support, monetary donations, and donations of desperately needed items have made it possible for us to assist in saving some of these beagles.

If you are interested in applying to adopt a beagle, please check out our adoption information and process page.

Our work is not done!  There are still other beagles that need help.  Our intake team receives daily requests for us to bring in new dogs.  We want to help all of the homeless beagles find their furever homes and live out their happily ever after.

One of the biggest needs that we have is a place to keep the rescue beagles until we can find their new forever home. Since we don’t have a shelter, we depend on Foster Homes. The beagles stay in these homes until we can find a permanent home for them. If you have room for an extra dog, it’s one of the best ways that you can volunteer. Fosters select which dogs they are ready to foster and when they are ready to foster. Fostering is a big commitment, but a very fulfilling one! If you would like to volunteer to foster with us, please see our foster guidelines and process page.

Not ready to adopt or foster?  There are many ways you can help these Special Beagles.

One-time and Monthly Monetary Donations: This is our biggest need and the way you can help the beagles immediately! We are a non-profit rescue run entirely by volunteers, and money is one of our biggest needs. All of our money comes from donations and adoption fees. We use this money to care for the dogs in our organization and pay the ENORMOUS vet bills we encounter each month.

We are always in need of supplies for our beagles. We update our Amazon Wish List regularly based on our current needs. You can purchase an item from our list, and it will be sent directly to the rescue.
